Getting SMART explains the principle tools and methods used in SMART Recovery and demonstrates how these can be applied in your own life.
The course involves watching videos, reading material and requires you to correctly answer multiple choice questions after each section before moving on.
Please note that Getting SMART does not equip you to facilitate SMART Recovery meetings, as either a Peer or a Champion. If this is your intention you will need to continue your learning by also completing the 'SMART Recovery Facilitator' course (please check eligibility details first).

This is the main theory course, providing thorough grounding in the tools and methods of SMART Recovery. It is suitable for meeting participants who want to understand more about SMART Recovery, future Facilitators and also Champions.
This course builds on the Getting SMART course and focusses on the skills and knowledge needed to become the best Facilitator you can be.
