About the SMART Recovery Facilitator Certificate

The SMART Recovery Facilitator Training Certificate is designed to provide you with the necessary knowledge of SMART Recovery and its 4-Point Programme for you to proceed capably, comfortably (and authoritatively) in your role as a SMART Recovery meeting Facilitator.

It is a requirement of all our meeting Facilitators to complete this training (whether face-to-face or online) before they start to facilitate meetings.

Course structure

The certificate is made up of 3 course ‘Introduction to SMART Recovery’ ‘Getting SMART’ and SMART Facilitator’.  Throughout these courses you will be required to review activities such as video presentations and lectures, reading materials, and complete training exercises, quizzes and (in the final course) submit assignments.  All of the training materials (including worksheets) are provided online so there is no requirement to purchase additional course materials, however some find it useful to purchase a copy of the SMART Recovery Handbook.
